I put my hands on my head and began the walk back into my house. She drove right past me without turning to look. In that walking I knew exactly what I wanted to happen and already dreaming of the end of May.
Part 2: The top of the stairs.
I paused at the top of my stairs. The sun sat broad across my narrow shoulders. "and what if it doesn't work out that way?"
Part 3: Flight 212
I'm always stone cold on airplanes. Even leaving for Australia, a trip I expected to last a full year, I felt nothing. No jitters, no excitement, no real reaction. Something about being so far away from the ground blunts my emotions. The whole flight I'm anxious to get off. I want to start this trip already, I want to tackle the looming 900 miles between Puerto Vallarta and Mazunte, I want to get there and see my sisters and Nicolas and their little puppy and just feel so good at having conquered that distance.
Part 4: Loud words.
I woke up to my sisters fighting this morning. I have no idea the day of the week because it means nothing to me. The beach is always there and the sun is always hot and not much else matters. They scream at eachother in English, ghetto words that seem so out of place here, and I'm not even remotely interested as to why. It sounds like they hate eachother and, if you were only judging from this one morning, you'd probably think they did.
Part 5: Darktime.
I climbed a roof today and wrote a little poem in English on the wall. It had something to do with black stars and the spinning of all things necessary, but chances are whoever finds it won't understand english. That doesn't really matter, I wrote it for myself anyways. The view from up there was perfect, just looking down at all the town's twilight happenings without any of it ever touching me.
Part 6: May 28th
I'm back and so are the girls and when the parents ask us how the trip went we all know there is so much we can't tell them, but that it was good and crazy and this and that was beautiful I can't believe its already over.
Part 7: May 29th
