I've been thinking about a tag name for the last six months maybe - Remedios; or rather, Remedios the Beauty.
She's a character from Gabriel Garcia Marquez's book 100 Years of Solitude and and she is unbelievably, dream-hauntingly beautiful but completely unaware of it. Indifferent to it. Wearing a burlap sack around the house as men peer at her through the tiles in the roof. In the end, on a sunny afternoon, she simply flies up into the sky and isn't ever seen again.
And so I'm walking around Lake Merritt today and what do I see but, scrawled across a jersey barrier in fat-tip Magnum sharpie, the name remedios with a lowercase R. gotta strike while ideas are hot I guess.
