big changes last night big movement
last night, in a pretty hyped turn of events, we elected Donald Trump as our president
republicans won the majority in the house and the senate
ALL OF THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT AND VERY EXCITING BUT ULTIMATELY MEANS NOTHING
my first post in this blog was in 2004
this same exact blog that you're reading now
George Bush had not yet been re-elected for his second term
for four years i wrote and, for better or worse, his energy and tone hummed through this
then in 2008 we got Obama which was tight
and eight years of his vibe spilled out
too many highlights and lowlights to even list
i will continue to write into this blog for the rest of my time
past this term too, and past the next
it is the longest document we have really, at least in my group
we are going to carry this next presidency as a tonal thing, as a broad energy
really our daily lives won't change much
the system is not built that way
we were children during Bush, we were children during Obama
we will be adults through Trump
and we will carry his sound, and our reaction to it, for the next four years
we are sharp things now we are full people
i intend to create heavily through this
and i'd like to encourage you to do the same
they will ask us about this election, they will ask about life under Trump
and the sum of our written-down musings and throwaway shitposts will be our legacy
i'm hoping we can leave something cool
and i'm almost certain that we can
