from scratch
welding, seaming, aligning
we'll tell a story and add value to these
and sell them at significant markup
(this is the only currency really
stories
our words can light up ordinary objects
and make them more than they are
the thing you are buying is not steel or lugs or head tube
it's a mission and an idea and a freedom of energy
people love to see someone doing their thing)
but really it's a non-profit endeavor
the proceeds towards:
supporting bicycle-friendly urban development
putting bikes into the hands of people
just giving away bikes basically
or selling them at cost
a custom line for the tech boyz
and a workhorse line for the people

i want a purpose
the more money i have the more boring my life is
honestly
i've spent my last 9 years as a servant to the rich
building other people's things
fanning their little fires
its time for mine now)
i'm also going to live in this warehouse
in a lofted bedroom above everything
the smell of weld smoke in my sheets and on my dinner plates
simple conditions
no clutter
two or three sets of clothes
women will wake up in my bed
light streaming through a fixed-pane window
their dark, curly hair down their thin, pale backs
but i'll already be downstairs
