• he has three boys, two of which are twins. he shows me videos of them playing on his living room floor 

• once, on a sitewalk, i heard him make a racist joke that included the word 'oriental' and also the word 'kamikaze'

• he cannot speak well. he hardly communicates. hearing him leave voicemail tightens my gut like nothing else 

• you can see his mind go entirely blank when the pressure is on. when the meeting is big and he is asked something directly 

• when the pressure is on he becomes away from himself. he unconsciously narrates what is happening. "wow, i'm really struggling right now. i can't think of the right words."
