sonoma coast

"you can only go when it's low tide" they said
so we pulled into the parking lot around 1:30

and as we hiked down, it struck me how strong and beautiful and confident we looked
marching into the sea

confident that we would hold ourselves up
that we would catch eachother
that we could do it

the waves crashing against rocks, that errant spray
the quiet rustle of a tide pool, anemones, crabs
the feeling of sandstone

we were there amongst it all
living in full color

-

it's only a few hours later now
there's still sand in my hair
and sun in my shoulders
and ache in my hands

and i'm not sure what i want to say except
that i had a nice weekend
and i have a nice life
and i feel really blessed
