there was a knock on the door and then
a woman from the tahoe park neighborhood association, with cookies,
to welcome me to the neighborhood.
i'm eating one of the cookies now.
i can tell i wasn't exactly what she was expecting;
barefoot,
zero hoodie,
swaying slightly from two glasses of red wine alone, no food, writing letters,
my hair fucked up and askew
but i played the over-enthusiastic-neighbor-voice i learned from my mother and she seemed to calm down
"this is so sweet but wait, how did you know i just moved here?"
she had gorgeous breasts under her blazer-jacket-thing i could just tell
i'm eating one of the cookies now
peanut butter cookies, roughly the thickness of a hockey puck
they're chewy and fluffy at the same time.
and i'm glad she brought them because i had absolutely no plans for dinner
and still don't
